Built in 1988 and extensively refurbished during the winter of 2006, the modern low rise Aparthotel Playa de Muro Village has a total of 190 guest rooms which are built in a Mediterranean style over 7 single storey buildings, and set amidst almost 8,000m² of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area overlooking the sea.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted bathroom with shower, along with an open plan kitchenette with microwave oven and fridge as well as a combined lounge/dining room with two sofa beds, direct dial telephone, flat screen satellite television, safety deposit box available for rental and either a terrace or balcony, most of which have exterior views over the pool and garden area towards the sea. In addition to the above features, a daily maid service is also provided, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen twice a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange services and both luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with a choice of air conditioned buffet style restaurants, offering traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, snack bars, public internet terminals with WiFi access in selected area of the hotel, laundry and medical services, and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor freshwater swimming pool for adults, along with a further separate children's splash pool, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground and mini club, as well as a smaller indoor heated swimming pool with sauna, Jacuzzi, gymnasium and beauty farm, offering guests a variety of cosmetic and beauty treatments.

The Iberostar Playa de Muro resort also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring rifle shooting, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
