In recognition of the size of Cala Millor and its importance to the east coast tourist trade, the Majorca Tourist Information Service (OIT - Oficines d'Informacio Turistica de Mallorca) has two offices in the area at:

and either of these two offices are always a very useful contact point for the latest information about events and activities in the area.

Although a short walk from the centre of town, Rancho Willy at nearby Cala Bona is a well established local stable from where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the resort and sample the peace and beauty of the Mallorcan countryside. The shortest ride lasts for 90 minutes and costs around 15 €. Once the summer is over, they offer the remaining visitors to the area longer two or three days treks with overnight accommodation. These longer trips will need to be booked well in advance to avoid disappointment, and will only run subject to a minimum group size of between 6 to 10 people. The cost excluding food, drink or lodging, works out at around 60 € per person for the 2 days. Contact details are:

Glass bottom boats make regular trips along the scenic east coast from Cala Millor, going either north towards Cala Ratjada or south to Porto Cristo. The boats are quite modern, with both a small bar and toilet facilities onboard. On most trips the captain will usually stop for about 30 minutes giving you the chance to dive or jump off the back of the boat and cool off in the sea.

With its inflatables and selection of rides, the Fantasy Park outdoor play area is a paradise for children. It's next to the Parc de la Mar gardens in the centre of the resort, and is open everyday during the summer months from around 10am to 9pm.

For the budding Michael Schumacher's of all ages Cala Millor also has its own karting track on the Avda. Bahía de Llevant. Contact details are:

On the outskirts of Sa Coma, on the road leading into Cala Millor and Cala Bona, is the Auto Safari Zoo. Visitors have the choice of driving around the 4km circuit in their own car, or taking the zoo's own min train, although having seen the damage a group of hungry monkeys can do in a matter of seconds I think the mini train is the better option. Besides the monkey enclosure, the park also has a number of giraffes, zebra, and elephants along with cages of lions, tigers and other big cats. Getting there from either Cala Bona or Cala Millor is very easy on the parks own courtesy bus which leaves regularly throughout the day from 9am to 7pm. Admission is quite reasonable at 10€ for adults and 7€ for children. Contact details for more information are:

As we briefly mentioned on the general introduction page, the 200 hectare Punta de n'Amer headland is situated mid way between Cala Millor and Sa Coma. This whole area was declared a protected nature reserve in 1985 by the local council, and remains to remind us of what the whole of the east coast looked like before the tourist boom. Walking up to the ancient watchtower of Castell de n'Amer takes around 45 minutes from both Cala Millor and Sa Coma, where visitors can see a small display of weapons along with other historical information about the tower. Never wishing to miss an opportunity, there is also is a bar at the top selling drinks and snacks that has some spectacular views of the coast line.

The Spanish are known for their love of Fiesta's. However, most tourists to Cala Millor will usually miss the fist event of the year which is held on January 17th in recognition of Sant Antoni Abad the patron saint of animals. The event begins with the lighting of small bonfires, which the local residents sit around and sing traditional songs and roast typical island products. The following day there is a colourful parade culminating in the blessing of the animals.

The Son Servera Fair is a week of festivities, including an agricultural and handicraft fair, that is held during the second fortnight of June each year in nearby Son Servera, the municipal centre of the region. However, the main events and parades do tend to centre around the 24th of June which is also celebrated in recognition of Sant Joan the Patron Saint of the town.

Not to be outdone with Son Servera, during the first week of August each year Cala Millor hosts a 4 day long event with numerous sporting, musical and other more cultural events, collectively known as the Festes de la Mare de Deu dels Angels.

For some bizarre reason Cala Millor actually holds its annual Tourism Week during the last week of September, when ironically most of the tourists have actually left the island. This annual event features a number of sports competitions, concerts, and a spectacular and colourful parade of floats through the town.

Finally, most visitors to the area will again miss the annual Regata Internacional “Bahia de Cala Millor” which takes place during the last 5 days of October each year. This spectacular event moved from Palma to Cala Millor in 1994 and attracts over 50 hot air balloons from all over Europe including teams from Great Britain, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Finland, the United States of America, Kenya and of course from Spain. The event is jointly sponsored by the Cala Millor Hoteliers Association and the municipal councils of Sant Llorenç de Cardassar and Son Severa, although for more information we recommend that you initially contact:
