Without a doubt the principal feature of the resort is the magnificent 27 hole golf course. The course was first
opened to the public in 1987, to the design of Pepe Gancedo. Over the last 20 years or so, the course has
hosted a considerable number of internationally recognised high level competitions, and has developed a
very good reputation with generously sized greens and striking black volcanic sand bunkers. Due to this growing
popularity, it is strongly recommended to book early. Contact details are:

Unless it is your intention to spend the entire duration of your holiday on the golf course, it is strongly recommended that you also consider hiring a car, especially if it is your wish to escape the resort for the day and see more of the island. Whilst it is possible to make the short trip over to Los Cristianos or Playa de las Americas by public transport, travelling any further afield would be extremely difficult even for the most experienced traveller, although even this journey normally takes somewhere in the region of 45 minutes, but at a cost of 2€ compared to the 15€ that a taxi would cost for the same journey, it does represent very good value for money. If you are planning to visit Las Americas by bus, one thing you should certainly be aware of is that the last bus returning to Golf de Sur actually leaves at 8pm. Further details of the Linea 470 service can be found on the Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife web site, although in all cases clearly no responsibility can be accepted as to either the content or accuracy of information provided on these links.
