Built in 1964 and extensively renovated during the winter of 2001, the modern low rise Hotel Esmeralda has a total of 184 guest rooms, including 176 twin rooms and a further 8 singles, which are built over 4 floors and set amidst 8,500m2 of Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces around a large central pool area.

All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted "en suite" bathroom with shower, along with a direct dial telephone, satellite television, safety deposit box available for rental, and most rooms also have either a balcony or terrace with exterior views over the pool or garden area. In addition to the above features, a maid service is also provided, undertaking a change of towels as required and change of bed linen once a week.

Guest facilities on offer include a 24 hour reception area with currency exchange desk, and luggage and courtesy rooms for late departures, along with an air conditioned buffet style restaurant and snack bar with show cooking, offering a choice of traditional Spanish, international and vegetarian menus, as well as a games room, laundry and medical services and both lounge and pool bars.

Sporting and leisure facilities available to guests includes a large outdoor saltwater swimming pool, with integrated children's section, and spacious sun terraces and gardens which are furnished with loungers and parasols. Other leisure facilities include a children's playground, a hard surface tennis court and both pool and table tennis tables.

The Hotel Esmeralda also provides a seasonal programme of daytime sporting activities, organised each day by their resident animation team, featuring petanque, water polo and aerobics, as well as evening entertainment with a children's mini disco which is then followed by either live music, cabaret or other professional shows several times each week.
