If for whatever reason you don't decide to hire a car, getting around the south west coast of Tenerife is fairly easy by public transport. A very reliable bus service is operated by the Transportes Interurbanos de Tenerife throughout all of island, with their Linea 441 route running a daily service roughly every hour from La Caleta to Los Cristianos, passing through the resorts centres of Playa de las Americas, Torviscas and Fanabe enroute. Overall the journey into Playa de las Americas is very reasonable at around 1.5€ each way, when compared to an average cost of 10€ for the same trip by taxi.
