Attractions and AmenitiesIn keeping with most of the other larger resorts along the south coast, the Majorca Tourist Information Service (OIT - Oficines d'Informacio Turistica de Mallorca) have offices in Paguera at:Oficina d'Informació Turística de Peguera Carrer de Ratolí, 1 Paguera Telephone: +34 971 687 083 Fax: +34 971 685 468 Email: omtpaguera@calvia.com and this is always a good starting point for the latest information about events and activities in the area. Most of the south coast resorts on Majorca have a good selection of sandy beaches, and Paguera is no different offering visitors a choice of 3 called "Playa Palmira", "Playa Tora" and "Playa La Romana". These beaches are all then joined by a fairly new traffic free pedestrian promenade running the length of the resort. During the summer months all 3 beaches can become very busy, although in all fairness to the local council, they are usually kept very clean. Behind the promenade there's a long shopping street know as locally “El Bulevar”, and it's here where most of the restaurants and bars seem to be concentrated. Paguera has an excellent selection of souvenir shops and Spa type supermarkets, which are supported with others selling local arts and crafts and famous designer label clothes. A number of boat trip operate out of Paguera, including glass bottomed boats that run along the coast, and others that run over to the nature reserve at Dragonera island. The Dragonera Natural Park and the Dragonera Island, is really a 6km long rock that is named because of its likeness to a dragon's back rising out of the water. In 1987 this area of the island was designated a natural conservation area, and has since then enjoyed the protection of the Majorca Council from commercial development. Once there, visitors can visit the small museum and see the remains of a Roman settlement at the Cova de sa Font. Although at its nearest point the island is only 700 metres from the mainland, separated by the ‘Es Freu' channel, private visits to the island are only allowed with an official permit available from the local council offices. For the more adventurous the village of Cala Fornells is a little over 1/2 an hours walk away. The village is very picturesque and has a number of original terracotta style houses. So, don't forget to take the camera! If you enjoy walking, and can drag the family away from the pool for the day, its possible to walk from Paguera into the nearby resort of Camp de Mar. From there you can then continue over the mountains to the exclusive resort of Port d’Andratx and its glamorous marina which has the provision for over 300 moorings.
The south west of the Mallorca around Paguera, has no less than 6 championship standard golf courses.
An organisation based in Magaluf called "Mallorca Golf Connection",
are the official TUI Thomson golf booking agency for the island, and can organise tee-off times,
transport to and from the courses and discounted green fees.
Contact details are: By Majorcan standards, Paguera is well served by public transport. Buses run into Magaluf and Illetas every 1/2 hour, and further afield into Palma and Andraitx every 50 minutes or so.
One of the most popular evening attractions with all nationalities in the south of the island is the
Pirates Adventure (Els Pirates), which is based on the outskirts of Magaluf. It takes the form of a Dinner/Show
with a pirate theme, and has short dialogues in English throughout. The 2007 season commences 29th March and runs through until
Friday 26th October, with performances every evening except Saturday, Sunday and Monday. In addition to the familiy show, there is also a
special adults only "Pirates Uncut" performance which is held every Friday night. Contact details for
