The quiet secluded resort of Es Canutells, is situated almost midway between the
resorts of
Binibeca
and
Cala'n Porter,
on the popular south coast of Menorca.

Making the short 10km journey from the airport at nearby Mahon into Es
Canutells, is for the most part very straightforward, and should normally take
no more than around 15 minutes from the time of leaving the airport grounds.
However, for those visitors who chose to drive, please be aware that the final
few miles into the resort from Sant Climent onwards, are along a series of
narrow, twisting, country roads.
As with the other resorts on the island, we have put together the basic route
for this journey, complete with links to maps where appropriate, and this is
available from the
Route Map
link on the left hand frame of this page.
If for whatever reason you chose not to drive, and don't have the luxury of a
tour operators coach transfer, there's always a large number of taxis available
for hire outside of the airport arrivals hall.
Although in theory at least, these taxis all operate on a fixed price basis, the
total cost of the journey is known to vary slightly, however, as a very rough
guide the transfer to Es Canutells should cost around 25€ for a taxi carrying 4
people plus luggage.
With the notable exception of the 3 star Aparthotel Mar de Menorca, this former
fishing village is still primarily a residential part of the island, and
although there are a couple of shops selling the everyday holiday essentials,
along with an even smaller number of restaurants, for a wider choice of
"designer label" shopping opportunities, visitors should really consider making
the short journey back to the island's capital Mahon.

During the summer months, a very limited bus service does run from Es Canutells
into Mahon on average 4 times a day, except for Sundays. On a number of
occasions throughout the year, visitors to Menorca often ask us for details of
bus timetables, however, bitter experience has shown us that the term
"timetable" is sometimes too generous a term to best describe the time the buses
actually run, although these are published each year on the bus stop in town,
and also on the
Transportes Menorca web site,
however, in all cases clearly no responsibility can be accepted as to either the
content or accuracy of information provided on these links.
Even by Menorcan standards the resort of Es Canutells can only be described as
being quiet, and if we are honest, other than the beach, and the "all inclusive"
facilities available at the Aparthotel Mar de Menorca, there really is very
little to see or do here, and is certainly best suited towards those visitors
seeking rest and relaxation.
